It's easy to pop the buttons out on the bottom of the trapazoid bar (Bottom bar), remove a slat and put back together. When new they drag a bit because they've been in the compressed state. Make sure there not getting caught on the window or it's frame If these attempts don't seem to correct the problem you will need to take them back for a replacement.Trying to mess with the mechanics inside the top part is a pain and usually doesn't do anything but frustrate you.
