I usually don't go to the trouble of actually undoing everything to replace one however. I use scissors to cut the damaged blind slat through at each of the rope slots and remove it. Then I do the same on one of the extra ones below and insert it in the ladder and then slide the ropes through the slits I made to get it off. I cut the slits at a slight angle to the hole rather than straight to hole. No one can usually tell unless they look closely. tlw733 has the best idea.
