How do I clean 2 inch faux wood white blinds?

There are approximately 2 years and I 'the VE said that they' the VE not clean ever. The powder seems to ply on them. How should I clean it?

What I do is use a damp rag and any ‘cleaner’ - 409 type. Spray the cleaner on the damp rag, then start at the top slat, work across each slat with one hand - holding the blind ’still’ with the other.
If they appear to only be dusty, you can try to use your vacuum brush attachment in much the same way. If the dust is ’sticky’ from ‘time’, you’ll probably have to use a damp cloth.
I always vacuum each slat first, then wet clean - so I’m not throwing the dust all over the house while I’m cleaning the blinds. Hope this helps!

If it’s just heavy dry dust buildup - a swiffer duster will work wonders on them! If they are greasy use a paper towel with windex to clean them first then the swiffer duster!

Take them down and put them in the shower or take them outside. Brush off larges amounts of dust. Then with your sprayer, just spray off the dust. If dust if tough like areas from the kitchen where grease flying in the air can cement the dust on the blade, then you will need to do a bit more elbow grease. Take a little mild detergent and scrub down the blind. The cords are nylon so it won’t hurt the cords, the faux wood product is some type of plastic so it won;t bother the blades. Just make sure you let them dry, so the mechanisms that operate won’t rust. sometimes they have metal parts.
My method is to put them in the shower tub area, do a little scrubbing rinse well with sprayer then take and wrap them in towels for a bit of drying. Wipe them down especially inside the headrail, and then hang them. The nylon cords will still be wet but will dry as they hang fairly quickly.
Faux woods are easy to care for.

The only 2 ways I have successfully cleaned blinds are as follows:
1. Put them in your bathtub and use a hand held shower nozzle to spray off any dirt/dust and let dry. You might have to do this a few times to make sure they are clean.
2. Bring them outside and spray with hose.
I never used any cleaner just water. They came out clean both times.

When my blinds were really dirty, regardless of what they were made of, I cleaned them in the bathtub. I would take the blinds down, fill the tub with hot water and a little mild soap and soak them. Sometimes they needed a little rubbing with a cloth or swishing around but the dirt usually soaked off. This also cleans the strings that hold them together and around the places you can’t reach with a duster like around the string holes.

As long as they are not real wood (plastic I assume) take them down put them into a tub of really hot water and bleach. Let them soak for an hour. When you take them out have a big cloth or blanket handy to put them on. Dry them on both sides. Hope this works.

We bought a house that already had these, and looked like they had never been cleaned. We took them down and put them in the jacuzzi tub with a SMALL amount of 409 and turned it on low. (We used a little too much the first time, and it looked like a scene from a comedy). It cleaned them pretty well then we wiped them down with a wash cloth. It got them clean and helped dry off access water and soap. Then we laid them on the back patio to dry.

Occasional light vacuuming with a brush attachment should keep blinds clean. More severe soiling can be removed by using a soft cloth and a mild detergent and water solution. I always put and old sock on my hand, this works great for wiping the slats
